    Description

Western Electric model 202 telephone made between 1921 and 1927, also known as the D1 model.  This one has been modified to work on a POTS line, but it has a metal four prong plug, meaning this was probably done in 1955 when these phones got reissued.  Adapters to make a 4-prong plug work on the modern modular system are available.  Also be advised these phones did not have internal ringers, that came later.
This is an original and still has the leather base.  It also still has the original cloth covered cord, but it will need repair.  There have been no modifications to this that I know of, but I never took it apart.
Dial turns freely and works .  They are a frozen on a lot of these old phones.
