Description
An estate find-- a hand painted on copper wall medallion measuring approximately 5-3/8" in diameter.  I am told that this was made in Turkey, although there are no markings.  It depicts a colorfully dressed man with a turban riding a donkey.  He carries a stick to "encourage" the donkey to walk.  Is this perhaps Balaam and his talking donkey of biblical fame?  The painted picture is outlined with gold metallic paint with the artist's signature at the bottom.  There is a small hole at the top for a nail or a cord for easy hanging.  It is in excellent condition, consistent with its age, having only some minor scuffing/scratching to the front and tarnish to the copper back.  All in all, a lovely piece for any collection.
