This item is a vintage early to mid 20th century pottery plate from Greece.
This is a hand painted clay plate created by Vassil ? can't make out last name .
It was hand made in Greece.
Written on back of the plate says the following,
"Detail From A White Ground Leky. Thos Painted 450 B.C. Soldiers farewell By Achilles National
Museum Hand-made and paint in Greece By Vassil?
This plate measures approximately 9 1/4"" in diameter and features a Greek key design around
the rim.
There is a string on the back of the plate that allows you to hang it on the wall.
Condition
This item is in very good condition with some paint chipping in the rim black areas and one
small chip on the rim of the backside of the plate
(see photos).
This is normal wear expected of a vintage piece.
