    Description

See Photos.  Comes from an immaculately clean nonsmoking home.  In very good condition.  Film is supple.  Three full five inch reels.  Buyer owns copyright to this movie. We do not save copies or scans or pictures from it. Only seen by family decades ago and stored since. Seller Lot #24003.
Reel #1 is family-oriented footage: Brining baby Eddie home, Grandpa's and Grandma's, Scenes at Camp Cross, Winter.
Reel #2 Bridge Dedication with a big parade, floats (East Hampton), and marching bands.  Has a big banner "New Britain" (CT?).  This film is in color (9 min long). The tornado on Aug 9, 1938 (Could refer to Charleston September storm, or the Hurricane that hit New England) shows aftermath and is approx three min long.  Tulips at Brainerd Ave (2 min) where ladies ohh and ahh over spectacular tulips.  Footage of New York World's Fair 1939 runs approx 4 min.  It was shot outside.  Includes the iconic 'world of tomorrow' globe and monument.  Lots of people walking around.  Includes water fountains and the city light entrance in front of the Edison building.  Lots of white buildings and a big eagle.
Reel #5 is a black and white film.  It is likely a first edition first print of the AGFA "Official Motion Picture of the New York World's Fair" documentary.  A Ruby Production.  Lots of dignitaries including the Governor of New York, Mayor Laguardia, and Roosevelt opening the fair ceremony.  Odd in that there is footage of FDR walking with the assistance of two ladies.  Approx 16 min in length with fireworks at the end.
