Swedish American Cathedral Oak Wall Crank Phone   -   Very original. Probably 1913 – 1918.
Not much about S.A. after 1918. Lots of manufactures phased out during WWI. On the condenser is “condenser tested ___
191,
so it's between 1910 and 1919. On the right side is an unusual display of pre-1920 tiger oak; (unusual). This is not a real common / ordinary oak crank wall phone. The transmitter is well identified stamped “Swedish American Chicago” etc. I'm not aware of anything not old except possibly the mouthpiece (but it doesn't seem to be repro). All detailed parts such as the magneto, switch, transmitter arm, ringer and shelf are undoubtedly original as are numerous other parts.
A CT (Cathedral Top)  plain front phone is not as common as simple plain fronts or CTPFF (
Cathedral Top Picture Frame Front).
Leich also made them and perhaps one or 2 other companies. They seem to have been post 1908 and pre 1919. This phone, because of it's brand and simpler style is not common. Seems as if there's a blemish in the wood upper left backboard, perhaps needing glued and / or filled.  We will include a crank.
