This well known pose of the Virgin, with hands clasped in prayer, standing atop a crescent moon with a cherub holding the bottom fold of her gown is completely adorned with micro-glass beads and important symbols for the Gods. Her mantle is made of graduated values of green with bronze center and lime green with gold center glass beads, rich green symbols and framed with metallic gold beads. The artist used graduated green beads for trim on her cloak. On the back, a large graduated green beaded eagle with God's Eye is flying below a large Messenger Deer. Several Peyote flowers garnish her mantle with gorgeous sparkly greens. We love how Librado turned some of the beads sideways for real sparkle.
The front of her gown is embellished with black glass beads and bright red symbols. The all important scorpion, protector of the peyote and Messenger Deer head protect several peyote flowers. Her sleeves are trimmed in clear metallic gold and the inside folds of her mantle are clear metallic green. Below, the 3D cherubic angel is clothed in a clear gold with metallic gold colored gown, metallic gold colored trim and adobe color beaded hair. Note: The metallic beads are more valued by the Huichol and cost double compared to the regular beads.
The base is adorned with Huichol earth and fire colors. Above the base, metallic aqua emphasizes the waves of the ocean and water that is necessary for successful crops.
A beautiful gift for an anniversary, special occasion or the ofrenda (offering).
