Absolutely gorgeous, majestic, bright multi-color glass beaded, Hammerhead Shark sculpture.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche wax onto this resin/paper mache sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this God of the Sea, Hammerhead Shark, depicts the offering message.  Some believe seeing a Hammerhead swimming by indicates that the Gods are watching over their families.  Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Mexico.
The deer symbol, messenger of the gods, is seen on the shark's head.
His eyes are outlined in white to indicate the 360 degree vision known to the Hammerheads.
Peyote flowers, used by the Shamans during religious ceremonies, surround the deer and the snake protector of the corn, decorates the middle.
His belly has the all important corn symbol for health and prosperity of the people.
We love the artist's use of rainbow colored glass beads on his dorsal fin.
The colors are stunning.
