Huichol Beaded Pouch Necklace Handmade Red Flower Medallion Mexican Folk Art
Handmade by a Mexican Huichol Indian from the Sierra Mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.  The Huichol are an indigenous Mexican Indian tribe that originally relied on symbols for their written language.  Their culture, rich in ceremony and spirituality, create beautiful beaded art necklaces and earrings.  Each one of their beaded necklaces takes hours and days of work.  One by one, glass beads were added to create this gorgeous medallion necklace.  This necklace is 100% authentic Huichol hand crafted jewelry and not the imitation beaded necklace.
Details:
The mystic spiritual pouch is used by the Huichol to carry seeds that are blessed during the ceremony for successful crops.
The story is told that the Huichol Indian, Yuramec, escaped the flood and carried a pouch around his neck to cultivate his new land.
The flower is the Peyote star cactus flower, the Huichol symbol for communication with the Gods by the Shaman leaders.

Longer style beaded medallion and beaded on both sides.
Gorgeous red, orange, blues, gold and black color glass Chaquira beads.
2.3"W glass beaded medallion with graduated length dangles.
Each medallion is woven onto dark gray simulated leather and b
oth medallions are woven together with red glass beads to form a pouch.
Medallion has a flower in graduated colors of white and blues with black beaded background and two orange and light orange/gold color outer rings.
A larger black glass bead is woven into the center of the flower.
The medallion is held by a beautiful Huichol red and rainbow beaded strand with colors that match the medallion.
11 dangles form the Prayer Arrow symbol with aqua blue metallic tube beads and a larger clear bead at the tips.
