Our Lady of Guadalupe figurine sculpture.  Handmade by Mexican Huichol Indian artist

This well known pose of the Virgin, with hands clasped in prayer, standing atop a crescent moon with a cherub holding the bottom fold of her gown is completely adorned with micro-glass beads and important symbols for the Gods.
    Our Lady
Lovely hand painted details on her face and hands.
Her mantle or cloak is made of beautiful graduated green colors and outlined in black.
Her gown is all clear gold metallics with a brown background.
One of the most beautiful parts
of this figurine is how Librado added red rose flowers within the gold background.  These flowers signify the red roses that were seen by St. Juan Diego within the virgin's cloak.
A gorgeous clear metallic gold with yellow rays halo surrounds the virgin's body.  On the edges, yellow beads form more Peyote flowers.  The back of her cloak is made of a gray pearl and metallic silver background with a large yellow gold God's Eye joined with a salamander symbol signaling for rain and blessing the children.  Below is a yellow gold Peyote flower and both symbols are outlined with royal blue glass beads.
    Cherub
The cute little cherub is also hand painted, is wearing a clear metallic gold beaded gown and is carrying the folds of her robe with clear metallic gold beads.
The base of this figurine is made of all black beads with insets of the same red roses as seen on her gown.
Such a bright colored sculpture and we love how Librado turned some of the beads sideways for extra sparkle.
