Huichol Beaded Iguana Lizard Figurine Handmade Signed Mexican Folk Art
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous Huichol Indian people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
100% authentic Huichol art.  Festive, expressive and unique, this iguana lizard is all handmade and signed by the Huichol artist, Flor Carrillo De La Cruz, Tuutu.
The body is made of mixed resin/clay.  Next, a thin layer of Campeche wax was added to the body and, one-by-one, glass beads were added to create a message to the Huichol Gods.  This iguana is color realistic looking to the black and the green iguanas of Mexico.
This colorful figurine is all 3D.  He has a gorgeous gray pearl beaded spine and varying colors of bright green feet.  All of the white Peyote flowers are accented with metallic silver beads and a deer head has white antlers.  His dewlap (the little sack beneath his chin) is adorned with light gray pearl glass beads.  He's so unique and reminds us to "relax and bask in the sun like the iguana".
This beautiful sculpture is all handmade and signed by the artist, Flor Carrillo De La Cruz.
