    Description

Huichol Beaded Giraffe Family Figurine Mexican Folk Art Signed COA Chaquira 11"H
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
Beautiful, multi-colored, glass beaded and hand painted resin/fish bone mix giraffe family figurine sculpture.  Handmade by the Mexican Huichol Indian artist, Librado Carrillo Carrillo, Paritemay, in Mexico.  The artist
    signed
    this sculpture and a
    COA
, certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist, is included.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche beeswax onto this sculpture and adding, one-by-one, chaquira (glass beads) this bright and elegant giraffe family depicts the offering message.
    Measurements:
    Height: 11"H
    Width: Side to Side: 7.1"W
    Depth: Front to Back:  3.6"W
Absolutely gorgeous, this figurine is three figurines in one and is adorned with micro-glass beads and important symbols for the Huichol Gods.  Each detail is 3D, sparkly and unique.  This love family is set, as if in the wild, on a grey, black and metallic silver beaded sculpted mountain.  We love how Librado outlined their eyes, gave them eyelashes and sculpted their bodies to form a heart shape.
The giraffe on the left is made of bright orange, cranberry pearl, clear neon pink and red glass beads.  With a completely 3D sculpted face, a large prayer arrow gives sacred offerings to the spirits.  On one side of the long brilliantly beaded neck, a large Messenger Deer, the ultimate messenger to the Gods, is surrounded with peyote flowers.  On the other side, the powerful sun gives light to the protecting scorpion and a God's Eye, protector of the children, is near the small giraffe's left ear.
The giraffe on the right has a sparkly clear green with metallic green beaded background.  The royal blue beaded symbols seem 3D with Librado's use of colors.  The prayer arrow also blesses this giraffe's sculpted face and we love the light blue beaded inset ears.  Other symbols include a God's Eye under the baby's left ear, a protecting scorpion and fabulous peyote flowers.
The darling baby giraffe is looking upward toward his family, is black with yellow accents and is nestled between the necks of the larger giraffes.  A large prayer arrow blesses the baby and smaller Peyote flowers are blooming.
This is a fabulous and gorgeous piece of art.  Labrado's attention to detail is amazing and we love how he uses a lot of metallics and turns some of the beads sideways for extra sparkle.  His beaded art pieces all have that
    haute couture
look.  Note:  The metallic and pearl colored beads are more valued by the Huichol and cost double compared to the regular beads.
A beautiful gift for an anniversary, a birthday, gift for a giraffe lover or a new family.  Also, a great gift for new grandparents.
We are very fortunate and proud to honor the Huichol Indians with their talented art pieces and thankful to offer their art crafts to you.  For this reason, we personally inspect every piece for complete bead details and first class handcrafts.
