Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
Beautiful, multi-colored, glass beaded, handmade resin/fishbone cat figurine sculpture.  Handmade by Mexican Huichol Indian
Isaias Bautista Carrillo, Turatemai, in Mexico.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche beeswax onto this kitty cat sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this bright and colorful cat depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods.
Measurements:

Symbols are very important for communication by the Huichol.
On a solid black glass beaded background, Isaias used gorgeous pink pearl, platinum pearl, clear metallic pink and bright colored beads.
His (or her) cute cat face has yellow and adobe colored Peyote flower eyes, a metallic pink and red outlined beaded mouth and metallic pink perky ears.  Three Peyote flowers and a Messenger Deer adorn his cheeks and left shoulder.
On his back, a brilliant fire stick enables this kitty to have visions.
His curled tail is made of clear pink with metallic pink center beads.  Since the beads are set into golden Campeche wax, the color appears amber and we love how Isaias turned some of the beads sideways for extra pink sparkle.
He is walking on a bed of metallic pink, yellow and platinum silver pearl color Peyote flowers.
Note:  The metallic beads are more valued by the Huichol and cost double compared to the regular beads.
