Each bead is woven by hand and the designs are all unique. This dream catcher is 100% authentic Huichol art.
The Huichol believe dream catchers catch any harm that might be in the air and hold it. The beginning of their ceremonies include a prayer arrow that is shot into the air. Typically, dream catchers are hung near a bed to capture bad dreams but also are mystical symbols of hope and healing.
2.25"W metal circle wrapped with red color silky threads.
Red Huichol threads criss cross in the center and hold glass beads in red, clear red, yellow and black.
The edges are hand beaded with sun rays for the most important Huichol Father Sun who is master of the heavens and brings light to the world.
11 same multi-color beaded strands hang from the hoop, in graduated lengths, end in green and purple AB (aurora borealis) metallic twist tube beads and multi-color Peyote flowers bless the tips.
Design in the dangles symbolizes, Urus, or prayer arrow.
Red, clear red and yellow top loop for hanging: 2.75" long from top of hoop to top of loop.
We love the multi-color striped beaded ball that is woven into the top loop.
