    Description

Huichol Beaded Art Box Artist Signed Mexican Handmade Father Sun Jewelry Box
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
Beautiful, multi-colored, glass beaded and handmade ceramic clay trinket jewelry box.  Signed original, created by Lupillo Lopez in Mexico.
Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche beeswax onto this square shaped ceramic box and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this bright and colorful art depicts the offering message.
    Measurements:
    Height: 2 1/2"
    Front to Back: 3 1/4"
    Side to Side:  3 1/4"
Symbols are very important for communication by the Huichol.
One of the important symbols used on the top of this jewelry box is the Peyote flower which is honored by the Shaman for giving influence to the gods, communication with ancestors, messages for future crops, rain and healing of the people.
Within the Peyote flower is Father Sun, master of the heavens and brings light to the world.
Around the top edge, pearl lavender waves are within the iridescent blue ocean bringing prosperity to the Peyote.
On the sides, half Peyote flower petals bloom amongst the orange beads.
Orange signifies the Wirikuta, or sacred land, where life began and where they gather the Peyote.
We love Lupillo's use of rainbow glass beads to trim the lid, the top and the bottom of the box.
Beautiful love gift and perfect for a Huichol collector.
We are very fortunate and proud to honor the Huichol Indians with their talented art pieces and thankful to offer their art crafts to you.  For this reason, we personally inspect every piece for complete bead details and first class handcrafts.
