Handcrafted Huichol beaded Pig collectible figurine. It measures 4.4" wide, 2 5/8" high, 1.5" deep and weighs 3.6 oz. The Huichol are from the Sierra Madre Mountains and surrounding towns and villages. The tribe is very spiritual and traditional. The beaded carvings are covered with a Beeswax and tree resin mixture and the glass seed beads are then pressed into that mixture and left to harden. The designs are derived from their religious, spiritual and traditional beliefs. They ingest Peyote and then see visions, dreams and hallucinations and then those are transferred into the beautiful designs that you see in their work. Never are there 2 pieces alike. All are very bright and colorful.
