    Description

    Up for sale is this Handmade Greek Hanging Wall Art 13” B&W Plate of “The Porch of the Maidens” in Acropolis or “Caryatids of Acropolis”. It is a pottery piece I believe, but has been fired and or painted with a flat white paint all over, then painted with blacks and grays to add to the depth and detail of the piece. This is a piece of very unique wall art found at a recent Estate Sale of some world travelers.
    This plate has an AMAZING amount of depth and detail due to the using of only B&W and Grey tones over white, and the plate was carved or sculpted to have depth in areas (relief?) that were meant to stand out and give it a 3D look. I wish I could capture that detail in a photo but it’s very difficult. You can look over the photos and see for yourself, much nicer to see it in person. The plate is in very good used condition.
    Note: I have an accompanying Greek art plate NOT INCLUDED HERE which is available in another listing - “Ruins of Temple of the Olympian Zeus” in Acropolis. It is a bit smaller than this one at 11 3/4”.
    Comes with sturdy wire to hang this 13” plate.
