This folk art piece features arrows and feathered staffs with three fingers? on green background.   Retains old paper label on the back and details this piece was made by the Huichol Indians and purchased from Dave Martin Galleries.  15 3/4" wide x 15 3/4" tall.  There is a small 2" piece of green yarn that has raised and needs to be reglued.   Please refer to photos.  Very good condition.   Signed back side lower edge "D. Martin".
Huichol paintings are made with beeswax spread on wood, then left to warm in the sun. The artist then scratches his design into the wax with a sharpened stick. The lines of the drawing are then filled in by patiently twisting and coiling colored yarns
