    Description

Flamenco Dancer CATRINA Huichol Beaded Art Mexican Day of the Dead Figurine
Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico.
Absolutely gorgeous, bright red, pink pearl, black, metallic gold and platinum pearl colored, glass beaded, Day of the Dead Catrina flamenco dancer
    clay
sculpture.  Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche wax onto this sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this Day of the Dead La Calavera Catrina depicts the offering message.
Handmade by the talented Mexican Huichol Indian artist, Isaias Bautista Carrillo, Turatemai, in Mexico.  Isaias' designs have that
    haute couture
    elegance.
Dressed in a gorgeous beaded, off the shoulder aristocratic gown with Huichol symbols, this Catrina portrays a sassy and elegant pose while holding her dress as if dancing in the Jarabe tapatio or Mexican hat dance.
Her wide brimmed hat, typical of the La Calavera Catrina, is red, black and pink pearl with beaded feather plumes and red with pink pearl 3D Peyote flowers.  On the back, a God's Eye, the protector, blesses her dances.
The sides of her dress are flowing with red and black colored beads and outlined in metallic gold beads.
She's holding up her gown on the sides and the mother of the corn, the creator, and the candle symbols garnish the front to light her way to the ceremony.
On the back, a Messenger Deer is the ultimate messenger to the Gods and is being nourished by the black masculine fire rain.
Her head is detachable and can swivel side-to-side for more sassy looks.
The symbols used on her gown and hat make her seem as if she is dancing in a Huichol ceremony in a most elegant way.  Gorgeous!
