    Description:
    This witty little ewer is a vintage reproduction of a Cycladic nippled ewer of the middle and early late Bronze age. These vases are often interpreted as libation vessels, and are frequently connected to supposed fertility rituals due to features such as plastic breasts.  This vessel is decorated in wheat sheaves painted brightly in orange, sienna, and marigold. It is splattered in textured paint and marked “no. 315” on the bottom and has a “museum” tag marked 1060 attached to the handle. This was probably purchased on a trip to Greece 40 odd years ago. It makes an inspired gift or lovely personal indulgence.
