    Description

Offered here is this original, aftermarket locking device for an early candlestick telephone, still in its original box and tissue.  Made by Chas. C Bielitz, 50 Church Street, New York City.  Bielitz was issued a patent for this device in 1911.  As you can see in the photos, all of the parts are present, including the two keys for the small padlock. The nickel plated parts are in excellent shape, the only rust being on the keys. The box with a clear photolitho image of a candlestick phone with the device in place and locked.  Box measures 3" x 2" x 1".  First one of these I have seen.
