Description
1939 NEW YORK WORLD’S FAIR TUNNEL BOOK OF TOMORROW ANTIQUE DIORAMA PEEPSHOWThis rare and unique folding diorama features the World of Tomorrow exhibit from the 1939-40 New York World's Fair.
The intricate design showcases a miniature version of the fair's iconic structures, from the Trylon and Perisphere to the Futurama exhibit. The diorama is a charming bit of historical memorabilia.
Among the fair's special guests and dignitarties were King George VI and his daughter Elizabeth (soon to be queen in 1953), Albert Einstein who gave a speech, and President Roosevelt, whose speech was one of the first to be televised.
It also includes a depiction of George Washington, tying in the theme of the World's Fair to the 150th anniversary of his inauguration in 1789.
Please see photos for condition. Some fading of color on front board, some archival tape repairs to bellows, internal scenes are in good condition with excellent colors. Peep view looks good.
